Electrolux History
Electrolux has its roots in the merger of two companies, Lux AB and Svenska Elektron AB. Lux AB was an established manufacturer, while Svenska Elektron AB was a younger company founded by a former vacuum salesman who had previously worked for Lux AB. The company’s beginnings are closely associated with vacuum cleaners, but nowadays, it is also a prominent producer of major household appliances.
In 1928, Electrolux underwent an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange, and later in 1930, it also had another offering on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Although it was delisted from the London Stock Exchange in 2010, its shares continue to trade on the NASDAQ OMX Nordic Market and over-the-counter. Electrolux remains a constituent stock of the OMX Nordic 40 index as of 2010.
